The DGA’s Independent Directors Committees (IDC) hosted receptions for Sundance Film Festival filmmakers at the Guild’s headquarters in Los Angeles and New York.

In Los Angeles on December 8, Sundance’s Festival Director John Cooper and other Sundance staffers offered survival tips to the filmmakers and Directors Mark and Jay Duplass (Cyrus) gave the audience the benefit of their own festival experiences and spoke about the advantages of Guild membership. At the New York reception on December 17, Cooper once again handled the festival advisory duties while DGA East Coast IDC member Gary Winick (Charlotte’s Web; Letters to Juliet) shared his Sundance experiences with the participating filmmakers and spoke about the benefits of DGA membership.
